Brainjar Blackjack is a simple and straightforward HTML5 version of the classic card game Blackjack (also known as 21). This online version allows you to play Blackjack in your browser without needing to download any software or plugins. It's a great option for casual players who enjoy card games and want to practice their Blackjack skills. Game Mechanics and Rules Card Values: Number cards (2-10): Their face value (e.g., a 2 is worth 2 points, a 10 is worth 10 points). Face cards (Jack, Queen, King): Each worth 10 points. Ace: Can be worth either 1 point or 11 points, depending on what is more beneficial to the hand. Objective: The goal is to get a hand that totals 21 points, or as close to it as possible, without exceeding 21. If you go over 21, you "bust" and lose the round. You are playing against the dealer. If your hand value is closer to 21 than the dealer's, you win. If the dealer's hand is closer, you lose. If both you and the dealer have the same hand value, it’s a push (a tie). Gameplay: The game usually starts with you and the dealer both being dealt two cards. The dealer’s cards are dealt face up (one card), and the other face down (the hole card). On your turn, you can choose to: Hit: Draw another card to increase the total value of your hand. Stand: Keep your current hand and end your turn. Double Down: Double your initial bet and receive only one more card (typically available only on your first two cards). Split: If your first two cards are of equal value, you can split them into two separate hands, each with its own bet. You will then play each hand separately. Dealer's Turn: After you finish your turn, the dealer reveals their face-down card. The dealer must follow certain rules: they must hit if their total is 16 or less, and they must stand if their total is 17 or more. Winning and Payouts: If you win, you typically receive a 1:1 payout on your bet. If you win with a Blackjack (an Ace and a 10-point card), you receive a 1.5:1 payout. If the dealer busts (exceeds 21), you automatically win the round. If you bust, you lose the round, regardless of the dealer’s hand.
